Wheeler Opera HouseIt’s a big week for film at Aspen‘s Wheeler Opera House, from a thought provoking Sundance favorite, to a Warren Miller original, they’ve got you covered if you’re looking to catch a great flick.

The Wheeler Film Society always makes solid choices in film and tonight’s pick is no different.  Your Sister’s Sister, was a hit at Sundance and runs tonight (10/29), tomorrow (10/30) and Wednesday (10/31) at 7:30 pm for just $10.  Here’s what the Wheeler had to say about it:

“After he directed the critically acclaimed Jeff, Who Lives at Home earlier this year (we played it), Mark Duplass stars as Jack who we meet in full hostility mode at a memorial service a year after the death of his brother in this Sundance hit. Jack’s best friend and coincidentally, his brother’s ex, Iris (Emily Blunt), packs him off to her father’s isolated island cabin to nurse his grief in idyllic coastal surroundings alone. Once he arrives, though, he finds that Iris’s older sister, Hannah (Rosemarie DeWitt), is also at the cabin, recovering from a break-up. The trio is complete when Iris shows up. Fuelled by consistently excellent dialogue, there’s an unexpected layer of refreshing optimism running throughout the movie. These characters who we grow to care about are dealing with some weighty issues like real, honest-to-goodness people. ’Romantic, funny, surprising and thoroughly involving, it is [that] rare film you give yourself over to completely.” – USA Today. ’A keenly observed romance whose apparent rough-edged naturalism masks a considerable degree of craft.” – Slate. 91min.
